Drone regulations in Hungary

It is legal to fly a drone in Hungary, but only in Temporary designed airspace. The different sizes of the drone have also different requirements.

You need to have:

  • A Permit.

  • Drone Insurance.

    The steps for get them are describe on the official web page. Read carefully and follow the steps. The most important thing is that you have to send the application to the Military Aviation Authority. 30 days is the minimum term, so keep that in mind. There is also a fee – 3000 HUF for each application.

For get permission for Temporary designed airspace you need to provide the next information:

    • Personal data – Name, Address, Phone number, Tax Number of application.

    • Lower and Upper Altitude.

    • Exact Geographic coordinates of the flight.

    • Reason of flight.

    • Start and End date and time.

    • Name and phone number of the responsive person. This person is obligated to:

      – Activate the Temporary Designed Airspace. That will happened with a call to the Budapest ATS Center. This cal must be done 30 minutes BEFORE the flight. After finish the flight this same person have duty to Deactivate the Airspace – also with call.
