First of all, we have to say that filming people is not so easy. If you are doing this for the very first time, you ill probably try to stay focus on the filming object, to keep it in the centre of the footage. With the following tips, you will become more comfortable when you film people.
Drone filming people - Take our advice and be comfortable
when you filming people
Tip #1 - Always tell people that you will film them.
Otherwise, first – it is illegal, and second – this makes it so easiest for you. You can give them tips how to move or where to go, so you can prepare your drone, prepare your direction, your movement, your speed and everything need to be set up before you start filming. So definitely you need to talk to the people you want filming. And that will make your job really easier.
Tip #2 - Use Propeller guards
The second tip when you filming people is that it is a great idea to use the propeller guards. You will probably not like the way you drone is looking with these propeller guards, but when you film people you might get close to them, you may have some kind of accident. So the Propeller guards will save the situation. They will safe you and the people from being heart. This is a very small thing but it is a very huge difference. Just use them.
Tip #3 - Use Tripod Mode
Tripod mode is amazing for filming people because it slows down the speed of your drone and gives you a lot more flexibility when you are rotating around the object that you are filming. Is much better to use slower speed when you filming people because it makes all the things just smoother.
Tip #4 - Not so high and Not so far
The tip #4 is to not go too high or too far from the person that you are trying to film. There is nothing worst that you start filming 200 meters away from the person and the viewers will be wondering “What is the point of this shot? What is he is trying to show us?”. The person won’t be visible in the frame so instead – try to fly lower and closer, try to keep the object in the center or at least in the frame, and keep it slow.
Tip #4 - use Intelligent Flies Mode
The tip #5 is to use the intelligent flies mode that your drone already has to your advantage. When you want to include yourself in the footage you can use Quick shots because you don’t need to hold your controller, everything is automated and can create some amazing shots without even keeping the controller in your hand and it little looks like somebody else is filming you.
We hope you will find these tips helpful and will make great drone footages with people.
