Latest Drone Laws in Zambia

Our advice is always to be up to date with the latest news and conditions before you decide and perform a drone flight. After that, you must keep also the drone laws in Zambia listed bellow.

Main drone rules in Zambia

 – Max allowed altitude – 120 meters.

 – Keep the VLOS ( Visual Line Of Sight) during the entire flight. 

 – Max allowed distance from the drone pilot – 500 meters. 

 – Flying at night – is forbidden. You can fly only in the day time, in good weather conditions, and clear visibility.  

 – Distance to any Airport – at least 10 kilometers. 

 – Launching and landing on public reads – is forbidden. 

 – If the drone is weighing more than 1.5 kilograms- it can not be used for private flights. 

 – The drone must have a Badge with Registration details – visible Nationality and Serial Number.

 – Drone insurance – Required. 

 – Flying in sensitive areas ( nuclear plants, prisons, police facilities ) – is Forbidden.
