For anyone who wants to experience the best that Africa has to offer, Zimbabwe is the perfect destination.
Start your tour of the country from the capital Harare, which is also the largest city in Zimbabwe. It is not only the capital but also the heart of the nation in almost every respect. The city is spacious and beautiful. If you visit it in September or October, you will see how the numerous jacaranda trees bloom – purple flowers cover the branches and color the streets when their flowers begin to fall. The result is a colorful city with purple streets and parks, strewn with pink, red, blue, and white spots.
Harare Gardens is the largest park in the city. There you will see a miniature copy of the rainforest, including models of the famous Victoria Falls and the Zambezi Gorge. The city has many other parks and gardens, as well as countless outdoor pubs and cafes where you will enjoy your time. In the center is the shopping area and several streets that are closed to cars, so you can enjoy walking around the shops. Only 5 km from the center of Harare is the largest market center and Mbare Musica – the busiest bus station in the country. The traffic in the capital is quite heavy. The city will attract you with its skyscrapers, cheap shops and hotels, and active nightlife, which is concentrated mainly to the west of the commercial part.
