DJI Mavic Air 2 – What’s coming?

Next week – on 27th April 2020, the DJI Company has scheduled an event – releasing the brand new drone Mavic Air 2. Everyone is waiting with big attention. The new model promises to have fantastic speed, Camera with 48 Megapixels for Images and 4K videos, and a great battery which will provide a time of the flight about 34 minutes.

What can we expect from the latest Mavic Air 2

DJI Mavic Air 2 Drone - new options and capabilities.

The new Mavic Air 2 can reach a speed of 68.4 kilometers per hour. This is a really good speed. And the time of flight can reach 34 minutes. That is awesome! Now you can take enough time to make just the perfect shots. And the footage- it will be gorgeous!
According to the documentation – the batteries are LiPo – 3500Ah at 11.5V. The camera will be able to capture 48 Megapixels images. And the video parameters are 4K. Mavic Air 2 also has an obstacle sensor. The controller will work over 8 kilometers distance. This is one big difference to the previous model – Mavic Air. This opportunity is fantastic and can give you more freedom. You will be more concentrated to get the perfect shot instead of chasing where exactly is your drone. Additional to this opportunity – the New Mavic Air 2 has stabilized triaxial camera for creating 48 Megapixel photos. This will expand the quality of the photos for sure.
Another great option is 4K video – this will be truly precious for each videographer.
The obstacle sensors and the intelligent flight modes can give you easy and effortless complex shooting.

The Remote control

The remote control of DJI Mavic Air 2 will provide a maximum transmission range of 8 kilometres and will send the materials captured directly to your mobile device. On the front of the Remote control, you have a button for 3 different flight modes – Normal, Tripod and Sport. This will helps you to switch fast and easy your flight mode since your needs. The Remote control also has Power button, Control pins, Battery level LEDs, Switch between photo and video, Stabilizer button, Photos/recording button, USB-C input, Remote control cable, Customizable button, Flight pause/RTH button, Flight mode switch, Mobile device support, Pin storage compartment.

Charging the batteries

You can charge the batteries via the USB-port using the supplier charger. You need to fully charge the Smart flight battery before the first flight. 

Preparing the remote control

  1. Couple the control pins.

  2. Remove the holder from the mobile device and disconnect the end of the RC cable marked mobile phone.

  3. Place the mobile device in the mobile device holder and connect the RC cable to the mobile device.

How to prepare for takeoff

  1. Press the remote control’s power button once to check the current battery level. Try once, then press again and hold to turn the remote control on / off.

  2. Press the smart flight battery on / off button once to check the current battery level. Press once, then press again and hold to turn the aircraft on / off.

  3. Open the DJI Fly.

The official date for available purchase is not clear, but on the 27th of April 2020 when is scheduled the official release, we can expect more clear information.
In all cases, the new DJI Mavic Air 2 will be a very interesting product with all its options which improve the Aerial photography.
